# Directions:

01 - Arrange 8 clear cups with 6 to 8 ounce capacity for layering.
02 - Dissolve red gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, then stir in 1/2 cup cold water. Divide mixture evenly between cups, using approximately 2 tablespoons per cup. Position cups at a slight angle using a muffin tin and refrigerate for 45 to 60 minutes until set.
03 - Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and allow to bloom for 5 minutes. Add 1/2 cup boiling water and stir until fully dissolved. Mix in sweetened condensed milk and cool to room temperature.

06 - Once white layer is fully set, gently pour blue gelatin mixture over white layer using approximately 2 tablespoons per cup. Refrigerate upright for at least 2 hours until completely set.
07 - Top each cup with whipped cream and fresh blueberries and strawberries if desired before serving.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • They look like you spent hours in the kitchen when really you just needed patience and cold water.
  • Kids go absolutely wild for the color contrast, and honestly, so do adults pretending they're making them for the kids.
  • Perfect for feeding a crowd without heating up your kitchen during summer heat.
02 -
  • Each layer must be completely set before the next one goes in, and I mean really set, not just surface-firm, or your stripes blur into a sad purple disaster.
  • Never pour warm gelatin over a set layer or you'll accidentally start melting what you've already made, which I learned the hard way on my first attempt.
  • Angling that red layer in the muffin tin keeps it thick enough to support the white layer without cracking or shifting.
03 -
  • Buy your Jello and condensed milk a few days ahead so you're not stress-shopping, and keep that muffin tin clean because you'll use it repeatedly.
  • If a layer cracks while you're pouring, don't panic—cover it quickly with the next layer and nobody will ever know.
